Oh,and the bigger the cam/radical the engine, the bigger the stall.

Why is that?  Doesn’t it depend on your application, street or strip??? Right???  If I was going to have a daily driver for the street, even if it had a 550 horse engine, a 2100-2200 stall should still be fine.  Any higher than that could result in high temp issues and possible harsh driving conditions????

If you have a camshaft with a 0.700 int./0.682 exh. lift, ,322 duration,big ported heads/valves,12-1 compression,1050 Dominator carb, Basic Operating RPM Range:4,000-8,000,you better put a 4500-up stall in it or it is gonna be a turd off the line.

On the street it's preferable to launch a motor a little out of it's TQ peak with a high HP motor if you don't want to fry the tires. That's how those F.A.S.T. racers manage to get thier cars to go so quick with stock size street tires. They make up for the soft launch once the motor gets in it's powerband. Here's a good example. A FAST race car that uses a stock hemi convertor with a 14 to 1 compression 505 cube BB with a solid roller cam to do 11.30's @ 122.

I wonder why it doesn't have a 904 in it.

I remember seeing a record holding SS/AA Hemi car in a car magazine that the owner said had 904 internals inside the 727 case. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see a similar tranny in a car 3 seconds slower that uses street tires.

The holes are normal,you will need the 5/16 bolts. You can get them here if you need to:

Flex plate should be fine,bend it straight if you have to.

Any reason why this one (a engine, 727, chrome) wouldn't be ok?

I also need the transmission lines......and mancini has both.....I found the lines $10 cheaper at Herbs but he doesnt have the dipstick.....and bouchilon doesnt have the lines.....Figure I will save on shipping by getting them both from the same place....

Any other leads for where Ican get both any cheaper would be appreciated!

It looks like the $22.95 and the $24.95 tubes are the same as the bouchillon ones. I do not like chrome tubes because it usually means that the groove where the "O" ring goes to seal the tube to the case is filled shallower with the chrome process which makes the "O" ring seal to have to be thinner which makes it get cut on install. Then the "O" ring is a special hard to find size. I like the black ones better then the chrome.

The best ones are the more expensive type with the "boot" seal at the bottom,they NEVER leak!

Terry, where can you get one with a boot seal for a small block 727? I've never been able to get mine to quit leaking!

Installed the stick today........nice unit actually....Will let you know if it leaks or not.

The stick doesnt protrude very far from the bottom of the tube though.....I guess that is normal? I always thought the stick protrude further into the pan but i guess not?  :dunno:

The stick locks in with a nice firm feel.
