Which Song Takes You Back To Cruising In Your First Mopar?
« on: May 06, 2009 - 11:07:06 PM »
My first Mopar was a 1973 318 Rallye purchased January 1977. A Craig 8-track and four JBLs made for a nice clean sounding system and any song off Nazareth 'Loud 'N Proud' takes me right back. You can barely see the graduation tassles hanging from the rear view mirror :ylsuper: :smokin: :ylsuper:

That is a cool pic! Whenever I hear any Aerosmith Toys in the Attic song I am the same way. Now this is circa 1984 but it was the tape that I listened to hour upon hour when I first started driving. Van Halen 1984 has the same effect.
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!
1970 Challenger (OO########OO) long ways off

My first car was a Chevelle SS  :eek4: and had a cassette deck in it and the only cassette I owned for while was Deep Purple Machine Head.Need less to say Highway Star along the whole album was pretty wore out in the first month or so and of course always sends me back.  :ylsuper:

These were some of the songs I listened to as well.
I know there was some hard rock in there as well.

The first Barracuda that I drove was a 1964 White with Gold interior and had a 273 4 speed with a hurst shifter.  Was more into driving than listening to music as I remember.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Boy Russ, that's a hard question.............................I can't remember  :roflsmiley:  I mean, after all...............I graduated high school in '64 and bought my first Mopar in '65, man that's a long time ago  :smilielol: I guess i'm and old fart for sure, and I guess I've had more fun than I can remember.  Although I did listen to rock I at that time was more into say ole Mere Haggard, George Jones, Willie Nelson.....etc. But come the 70's I was truly "converted" to rock. And the Eagles were my favorite.............hell, I still want to go to Winslow, AZ.  :bananasmi  :cheers:

Thanks for the memories Russ............... :drunk: :drunk: :wave:

Anything from Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. I don't know how many 8 tracks and cassettes of that album I've worn out. Thank goodness for CD's, they don't wear! :roflsmiley:

Since you said which song (singular) I'll go with Boston - "More than a Feeling". And you know that song sounds just as good on the radio 33 years later.

As a younger guy, I would say it songs by these bands: Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Foo Fighters... in either my '90 Dodge Daytona or my '70 Plymouth Road Runner.
