It figures!!!!
« on: May 09, 2009 - 07:15:02 PM »
I've been planning to go to the All Mopar Show at Farmington Dragway here in NC for quite a while. I spent all week preparing it to run in the drag race and shining it up to look good too and low and behold the weather forecast shows a 60% chance of rain!!! :walkaway: So I decide to not take a chance so I pack up the Volvo and head up to check it out anyways. Well not a drop of rain all day and it turned out to be beautiful!!! :swear: The show was awesome too!! I'm downloading pics tonight and will post them tommorrow. Oh well! ::)

We're slaves to weather.  I wasn't going to go to a car show today because of the threat of rain, but decided to go anyhow because it was clear this morning.  Had a nice time and back home.  Look at it this way, Dave, you saved wear and tear on your 'cuda.

Too bad, would have been cool to bring your car to the show.  :grinyes:

Just drive it.  I've been in the rain at least a few times this year.  It's a good way to check if the wipers are working. :poopoke:

Imagine having a job where you can be WRONG at least half the time and still get paid six figures.

I drove MY car to the show...maybe you saw it. 71 Charger S.E., white with blue stripe & interior, R/T hood. (The Challengers stayed home this time)

I didn't see your car with the other V-bodies.  :roflsmiley:

I made the same "mistake" last year at the Triad Dragstrip show. Drove the truck there with cloudy skies and threat of rain. Got there, the sun came out and stayed nice all day.

60% chance of rain means there is a 40% change of no rain so you just have to roll the dice.  The weather guy or babe is just telling you the percentages  :o

You should have taken the Cuda..
If it did rain you would have to clean the Cuda after you got home and if you raced it you would have to clean the rubber off the 1/4's anyway. You know what I'm trying to say..... ???  :eek7:  :screwy:  ;)

I know I sound like a wuss for not taking the chance but my car is an older redo that has a couple of small issues starting to come back up. For the last couple of years I have kept the car completely dry even down to not using water to wash it and believe it or not those issues have not changed a bit in the last few years. It still looks great and since I dont have the money to restore it I'll continue to try and keep it dry... that is except for the water box!!! :icon16:

I dont remember it specifically. I checked my pictures and didnt see it. Where were you parked at? I did see a nice Charger in the parking area near where I was parked which was way on back. Next time I go to a local show I'll make a general announcement so that I can meet some of you local guys!! I will say these were the nicest group of car people I think I have ever come across!!! :ylsuper:

Same weather here , I had planned to go to a local show & take the Charger , worked too late last night , got a late start this morning & had stuff to take care of before I could go & when I went to leave it was raining , not that I care about the rain too much but who wants to stand around in it & the last 2 days we have had snow mixed in with the rain so I didn`t even go in my truck

It was in the 71-up B-body show car section, sandwiched between a gunmetal 73 Charger and a sublime Road Runner. I'll try to toss in a couple show pics when I get a minute.

Did you see the B5 70 Hemi-Challenger R/T-S.E.? I checked the VIN...it was the REAL DEAL! 4-speed, too.

Oh, come on, give those "weather procastrators" a break will ya ? With all this climate changing sh!t going on it is a different weather pattern every time you look out the window.  :roflsmiley:  Besides, that's why some show organizers call it a Show & Shine, ya go, ya show, and then ya shine it up after it quits raining.  :smilielol:  Does p!ss ya off don't it ! ?
