Little Buddy
« on: May 11, 2009 - 09:16:20 PM »
I have this kid named james (10 years old) who has been coming down since last summer.... everytime he hears me fire up the wedge he comes running down from like a couple blocks away! He helps me with my car with the little things like pumping the brake pedal for me to bleed the breaks etc... I pay him some money for helping out! Im not sure what kind of guideance he has all I know is he has a step dad and is always wandering around!

He always seem to show up at the right time.... He took the money I gave him last time and bought one of those cheapo digital cameras just to get photos of my challenger! Needless to say he loves my car! He always says "This Is My Car"

He helped me clean up the chally for the track coming up and I promised I would get him a photo made for him on a good camera!

I kinda like the little guy

Thats awesome, I think we can all look back and remember a good mentor instead of getting yelled at to stay away from the car you might scratch it. This is something this kid will remember for the rest of his life. And I'll bet he buys a mopar when he's older. :2thumbs:

Cool Stroker. Looks like you make an excellent big brother.  Kids need and crave what you are doing for him.  Your attention with him and being there for him will last a life time. Yer the man :2thumbs:

if he is always wondering around then he may have a pretty bad home life, its great that you are showing him some attention, that may be all he is looking for, he sounds like a pretty cool kid, and has great taste in cars too.

It's a good thing you're there for him. I wish I could've had someone like you around when I was a kid.

That's cool you let him help you out around your car, Jason.  I know it's always nice to have someone that will let you be around cars and learn more about them when you're a kid.  My neighbors have always been great for that and now we're pretty good car buddies now that I'm older. :2thumbs:

:2thumbs: Looks like a sensible and alert young man, you can tell from that pic that he sure is "proud" of that car. And I bet he would be thrilled out of his mind if he could go to the track and watch you do some straight line passes.  Hats off to ya Jason, a real nice gesture on your part buddy. I too beleieve there is a story behind this young man...............you may not know how much you are directing him and his life's path.  I attempted to be a "big brother" a couple times, unfortunately all I got was missing tools and ticked off fathers who thought I was mis directing their kids.  :roflsmiley:

It's great being a big brother to this young guy.  Maybe this young guy comes to you for attention that he doesn't receive at home.  His step father might treat him as a third wheel.   :2cents:

That's awesome Jason taking the little guy under your wing like that. He could turn out to be the next Richard Petty!! I got into Mopars due to a motor head down the steet that was about ten years older than me. I was about 15-16 and he owned and built some mean street Mopars. He showed me how to tune em and I was hooked!! You my be the only positive influence he has in his life!! :2thumbs:

Very nice of you Jason. We shall call him Mini Stroker. My cousin (aarcudaden) is the one who really got me into Mopar. He is about 10 years older than me, and he always let me pal around with him. We are now like best friends, and still hang out.
