    I do see it. I can only make out the 2 clearly. Maybe it is a 72 like Sadil340 has on his.

    It's 52. Shows up clear on my larger raw pictures that I took.

    I can ask Troy if that  coin number happens to reflect the buildsheet part number.

    Also, I'm pretty sure there is a date code stamped on the K-member. Troy tracked the date code on every part on that car that had a date code. More parts have date code than you might think.

    52 is correct for T/As, AARs & 318, 340 & 383 cars after about mid-1970 model year. The 52 is on the broadcast sheets, it is the last two digits of the actual part number.

    Date codes for these are stamped into the flat vertical surface on the front of the K member.

    That would jive with why my car has a 72 not a 52 - it was delivered in April 1970 so would have been manufactured before the mid-1970 model year.

    Thanks for the responses. This has been great! It will help to identify what should be on a car. With a buildsheet it could identify if the K-frame has been changed.

    Barry, how much of a time period could there be between the fender tag date and the K-frame date?

    Fender tag dates can be up to three weeks or so off, either early or late.

    K-frame dates? I have not looked into it, I just do not go around comparing them.  :dunno:

    For the guys into the date code thing, you should start a spreadsheet for any items you KNOW are original to the car. I need to do that myself for my T/A one of these days. So far, my engine assembly date is a few days after the date on the fender tag, so I know my car was made "late".
