Need Help on Seat Fitment Question ASAP HELP!!!
« on: May 12, 2009 - 08:06:30 PM »
Hey guys, I found a pair of seats out of a 70 superbee and was wondering if they are the same basic seat as I need for my 70 cuda.  Obviously I would be replacing the foam and cover but are the actual seat frames, etc the same?  They do have the hard plastic backs.  Need to go buy them quick if they are the right ones so any help would be appreciated.  Here's the only pic I have of them

Ok guys, I picked up the seats and got one stripped down and now I am a bit concerned.  the seats are a lot different than a 73 cuda seat I have, was wondering if anyone has pictures of their 70 seats when they were stripped down to the frame, I need something to compare to, thanks, tyler

No photos, but '73 frames are completely different than 1970 frames.

Yeah, I did a bit of reading and now realize that - I found a good write up by Killer-Mopar here http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=8928.0  that makes me think the superbee seats I have are the right ones, they have 6 rows of springs in the base and springs in between the frame on the seat back.  However, the B-body burlap 'inlays' with wire in them that I have are likely different than the cuda ones I'm guessing.  Does anywone reproduce these inlays or do you even really need them?  thanks again guys.

I just found this same code on the bottom of my seat. 2000gt - did you ever find out what each number meant?
Mine is in a 1970 Challenger.
If anyone else can help? I heard 2819 is date code for 8th October 1969
