Consumer Reports Hammers Chrysler
« on: May 13, 2009 - 07:33:28 AM »
Yeah, this article should help Chrysler sell vehicles......  First it slams Chrysler for poor quality vehicles then cheers the 2009 Ram pick-up.  What the hell?!  How about giving some support to an american auto maker.  I mean, really, why bash a company for older products when the new line up is much improved (paraphrasing article).  Here is the link if you'd like to read it yourself.  Oh, I really like how the article is opened by a lady who will never buy another Chrysler product. :villagers:

Looking at the 2009 Challenger we (guys here at the ford dealership) marveled  :wow: at how the body lines lined up and the performance of the vehicle. I can't speak on the drivetrain of the line-up since this is the 1st mopar I have owned since the '74 Duster I had.  What a vast improvement on that comparison.

Chrysler has always been the redheaded stepchild.  It will never change.

Chrysler also had the least amount of recalls from what I remember last year.  Very few compared to other large makes.  Granted, they are the smallest out of the big three, but its a step in the right direction.

Exactly! There are far too many varables to make this type of review credible.  But what is really sad is how many people revere this magazine as gospel truth.  furthermore, look at who gets the best reviews, then look at the advertisements..... in a good portion of cases there is a connection. :screwy:
Anyway, the quality of my mopars are every bit as good as the fords I own.  Only amercian (canadian in the case of the Challenger)  :wavingflag:  :canada:  made vehicles under my roof!

What I want to know is what mechanism they have in place to verify that the people giving these "reviews" actually OWN what they are reviewing? Anybody is free to go and drive the car they are thinking about buying and recalls are quality check #1. If you're letting 100's of 1,000's of cars off the lot with defects, then..... :grinno:

Consumer Reports aint worth a crap, for years they have been slamming American cars and loving on those Ricers. I could go on about the current situation with folks slamming our cars but it makes me sick everytime I think about it.  :eek4:

CR specifically has had it in for Chrysler for decades.  Sometimes their reviews on other products can be worth reading though (tires, appliances).

I was reading the "10 most dependable" cars on Vehix tonight. Supposed to be cars that run forever with little maintenance. It almost has some credibility until they listed
A Mitsubishi SUV and then the Prius. :smilielol:
