904 and 727 question
« on: May 13, 2009 - 04:34:40 PM »
I was reading one of the threads here and noticed the poster saying that he was glad he had a 727 as he planned to go big block in the future. Am I wrong or aren't there two different variations of the 727 depending on small block of big block? Aren't the bellhousings a different size?
Also, I was going to sell my AMC 904 until I read how good the Mopar 904 can be. Is this the same tranny? I heard that AMC trannys were actually mopar. True?

I don't know about the AMC thing, but there is a difference between the small block and big block transmissions and they do not interchange.

AMC 904 internals are the same as a Mopar one. The case is different.
