Mopar Is In My Blood Again
« on: May 14, 2009 - 05:53:54 PM »
Back in 2003, I made my first post here and said that I own 3 non-Mopar cars (listed below). The member "Rev-It-Up" asked if I was going to buy another Mopar since "Mopar runs in the blood."

Well, I've been remembering the 1966 Plymouth Fury 3 (318 V-8) one of my brothers owned from 1976-1998. I always did like those full-sized Furys from that year in particular and 1965-1971 in general.

It would be fun to look up that '66 Fury to see if it's still registered. I do remember the license number (XTB240) but not the VIN number... my brother may have the VIN number saved. Is it possible to see if a car is still registered by using either number?

I am also checking out the ads on the Internet just to see the '66 Furys that show up. I am not saying I would definitely buy one (I already own 3 cars), but it would be fun and enjoyable to own a car which was very familiar to me many years ago.

Have you ever drove a cuda or challenger?  Fury's are good I have owned several of them myself.  Hope you find what you are looking for.  I am not sure about the answer to your question but maybe you could go to a police place and have them to check it for you.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

No, I haven't drove a 'Cuda or Challenger. One advantage of a Fury is that they are much more affordable than the Mopar pony/muscle cars!

The police! I'm afraid of them.  :eek7:
Maybe the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) would be a good way to do a search.

That's true. There may be some good deals out there. It would be nice to own a Mopar again! Although 1969 is my favorite year for cars in general, for some reason, I really like 1966 cars, too.

Thanks for remembering.
This '66 VIP showed up on ebay. Item number 130309520760
383-4 bbl engine, 89,000 miles, working A/C, power windows/steering/brakes. I think I'll keep an eye on it and see how high the bids go. Looks pretty good but I am kind of concerned about the lifter tick which the seller mentions.

Here are some photos:

By a narrow margin, I won the '66 Plymouth Fury VIP shown above.
It will be nice to own a Mopar again and I apologize for not owning one from 2003-2008.  ;D :naughty:

I will post some photos after I receive it and will certainly make some youtube videos.

Sentimental value, mainly. My brother's '66 Fury III was the same color as this car.
