Added price to the Challengers?
« on: May 19, 2009 - 06:40:20 PM »
Is everyone still putting the added price to the new Challengers?  I looked at 8 of them today and may trade for a Blue one but will have to see.  It is a base unit with a white strip on it.  It does look good though.  I did get to drive one today and they do drive good.

Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I do not think it is right for them to put the added price on them.  They did knock 1k off of it but need to come down even more I think.

This is crazy. With the state of the company I can't believe they would play those games. Have you checked out any other dealers close by? I was lucky in my pursuit as I had a few within a hour drive of me...But yes, I did see 5K mark-ups.   :screwy:

I am not sure if there are any others around close.  but they marked it up 3895 or so but knocked 1k off.  I think that I will challege it tomorrow and see if they will come down the rest of that money.  I think they should without a problem if they want to sell it.  Here is a pic of it.

I would never pay over sticker for any new car. Actually I would never pay sticker. I don't know of any dealers in my area still marking cars up. Most are discounting quite a bit, not as much as employee pricing, but still coming off at least $800, usually more. My advice is to keep looking.

I think they should cut another 3 to 4 k off the price and I think I would jump on the deal then.  But we will see.  I dont have to trade for sure.  they have not sold very many maybe a couple of them.  So I think they will still come down.

Yep that is what I think also.  They have another 8 or 9 of them on the lot.  Would get a r/t but think I would be more satisfied with the v6.  It runs great and drives better than I thought.  The blue looks better than I thought it would also.  The white strip looks better than I thought also

Iv'e heard someone say,"The car that brought me here will get me from point A to point B just as well as that one."
When I bought the challengers I told them I could just as well buy a couple Mustang GTs, the extra 1k suddenly dropped off.  They had 12 challengers when we arrived at the dealership and they still have 9 today, we bought our vehicles 2 weeks ago......has it only been 2 weeks?!  Don't let dealerships sucker you into an impulse buy and pay too much.  We were all for doing our part to help Chrysler without having them slash the price, but on the same token we wanted a fair market price. :)

You got that right and they have another 9 challengers there at least.  And the guy said that they have only sold 2 since they came out.  I am going to be hard nose on this one for sure.

I would subtract the upcharge from the MSRP and see how they like it.

If it costs too much find a nice used one, avoid the depreciation and the markup alltogether, only you and the seller have to know! :misbehaving:

I guess we will see what happens today.  If they really want to sell it then they will come down.  I think they should at least take to up charge off and that I should only pay the MSRP on it.  We will see and I will let everyone know.
