Sorry to hear of your troubles.  :(

Hope all works out for you.

Hey Mike, this sucks hearing it is going down this way mate....... Have you thought about looking at being part of a crew on a Charter boat ? deck hand or something, i know how much you love fishing and this would be getting closer to the season for you right now, may be a good fill in until you get what you really want  :dunno: plus you get to catch fish  good luck buddy :2thumbs:

Can't

1. Salmon season is shut down again for the second year straight. That's where all the money is decking.

2. An hour away drive everyday. I'd have to move closer to Half Moon Bay

3. I don't think now I could take that physically everyday. It's pretty rough out there on an average basis. 5-6 foot swells every 8 seconds is the norm out the there most of the season. 15 -20 knot winds every afternoon. If I was 25-30 yrs old, yeah then I could. It's a pretty tough life doing that and you pretty much live on tips is all. So the money isn't that good.
4.Captains on party boats make the most. It's a lot of schooling involved to become one.

GOOD. That company doesn't deserve you. Your manager knows the score. You will find a better job soon. Hard working honest people are hard to come by and companies all over are looking for people like you no matter what the economic situation is. My dad was top salesman for Johnson and Johnson in the nation and they let him go to have a new cheaper salesman fill his place. He then became a firefighter and never looked back. You'll come out ahead on this. Go get them. :2thumbs:

Today's my last day here. I just returned from a scheduled meeting and start exit interview shortly.

Ironically, I met with an engineer this morning of a company interested in doing business with us.
Again, it's always a long drawn out process but I bet they make the deal after I'm gone.

Like all the others have said, I'm sorry to hear about your job loss.  It seems to be the flavor of the day lately.  Try to keep a positive attitude and enjoy your holiday weekend fishing.

I did leave today on good terms with them. The 2 people that hired me said they'd give me letters of recommendation if I needed. They threw in all my leftover vacation as pay plus 10 days of separation pay added to my last check I still have coming.
Once that's all gone. I will get Cuda money DT's. EDD said today my weekly pay will be just under 450 a week.  :faint:

During the exit interview I asked them; "So tell me about who is the replacement?"
He's an order taker for a connector/wire distributor. They think his smokin database of leads is their savior. I told em that theory won't work. The dude has gotta have some really good phone skills if he's going to keep his head above water.

A woman is the head manager on all these decisions about me going. She isn't thinking clearly IMHO. Anyway, I'm outta here till next week. Gone fishing.

Thanks everyone for being there to listen.

Oh Boyo oh boy am I so happy right now.  :bananasmi

I just landed a job doing lein sale paperwork at tow yards. It pays over 50K a yr.
All I will be doing is going to tow yards all over the Bay area, taking down vin numbers, Bs'n with the tow yard people and inputing the numbers in the computer to headquarters. This is going to be so easy and fun too.

No more pressure to make the deal or meet the deadlines or put up with someone elses mistakes. Just keep going to all my pre existing accounts. No competition within. I'll be the only rep in all of N Cal.

I'll have to buy a beater car now on good gas. I don't think I'll have any problems. I'll be seeing them everywhere I work. Work starts for me on Monday.
