Oh Boyo oh boy am I so happy right now.  :bananasmi

I just landed a job doing lein sale paperwork at tow yards. It pays over 50K a yr.
All I will be doing is going to tow yards all over the Bay area, taking down vin numbers, Bs'n with the tow yard people and inputing the numbers in the computer to headquarters. This is going to be so easy and fun too.

No more pressure to make the deal or meet the deadlines or put up with someone elses mistakes. Just keep going to all my pre existing accounts. No competition within. I'll be the only rep in all of N Cal.

I'll have to buy a beater car now on good gas. I don't think I'll have any problems. I'll be seeing them everywhere I work. Work starts for me on Monday.

Mike,

If you find any cool Mopars, let us know.   :grinyes:

You bet. I'll have the radar on for Mopars.

Right after I accepted, the phone rings 3 times for job interviews at other companies.

Good for ya TC  ......Just a note re: using your personal car on the job, you will need special insurance coverage, at least down here you do.

Yes I'll need to do that. So now that has me thinking.

Would additional insurance I pay over and above what it normally would be considered be as a write off? My gas? Food bought on the road? Tolls?

Tolls and gas yes. Food..... you would have to eat anyway so they won't give you that.

While I was unemployed, my VET EDD counselor recommended I take a mini class they were offering right then on networking skills. It was very good and informative. The main thing I learned from it is how you can use websites like LinkedIn and Plaxo to help you find the right channels to get you more visible in the job market.

If your wife hasn't done so yet, I would recommend she does some networking her job skills from websites like LinkedIn. That's just the tip of iceberg to get her higher visibility during these job competitive times right now.
