the heads are good for some power increase for sure but I am no fan of the Chev rockers , so I tend to use the 308 heads , they have the flow & the shafts

The Eddy's flow better than stock heads and, if I recall correctly, the Magnum version flowed slightly better than the LA version.  I had a little work done to my Eddy Magnums along with flow testing but I can't recall the numbers.  I wonder how much work is required to get stock iron heads to flow that well?  The Eddy Magnum heads have the smaller 58cc combustion chamber vs the 62/65cc LA and 340 head

any alum head needs to have at least 8 cc smaller combustion chamber just to compensate for the heat loss to alum

Yes the Edy magnum heads have smaller combustion  chambers, but when you unshroud the valves the chamber CC's goes up about 5-6 cc's, so then you have to mill the heads to drop the cc's back down, and be sure to set the piston tops at zero deck (top of block).

Yes, zero decking should be the goal along with 10.5 compression w/aluminum heads.
