free markets dont crash like ann inverted pyramid,
I think we just saw that happen!  The crazy mortgage feeding frenzy to give every Joe a loan whether he could afford it or not, then Wall Street doing their derivative dance to balloon the debt values 1000's of times based on a high-risk loan...this was an inverted pyramid big time.  When Joe couldn't make his mortgage, the entire glass pyramid crashed and almost sunk the financial structure of this country.  I guess if you want to blame the democrats for the Freddie/Fannie mess as the government intervention part...I'll give you that! Dodd and Frank should be tarred and feathered  :villagers:

GWB warned us in 2001 about Fannie and Freddy and called for regulation of them both in 2003, 6 years ago. It's all documented history, from the Community reinvestment act of Carter up to the Clinton administrations forcing banks to give out the risky loans in the 90's to GWB's proposed legislation to regulate Fannie and Freddy  getting blocked by the Dem's who were getting campaign contributions from both.

So the next time you see Obama on the TV blaming GWB for the "crisis" we're in stop and think of how many other things he's also flat out lying to you about... :clueless:

:iagree: 100%  The proof is right there in celluloid. And most of our problems began when the Dems took control of Congress. No Obama is not at fault, his administration is just making everything worse. I keep hearing it all the time, "he's only been there 3 months" "he's only been there 4 months" and soon to be "he's only been in office 2 years" and then "how can you guys expect him to fix everything in one term?"

Dont forget that for most of the last 100 years we have been the main defender and promoter of the free civilized world. And let me tell you it hasnt come cheap. Not just hundreds of thousands of american lives...something like 400,000 in WW2, Lots more in Korea, about 50,000 in Nam and on and on, but also the trillions...and trillions of our dollars. We still station many tens of thousands of our soldiers overseas, to ward off enemies of our allies, and most of those allies only have to spend a token for their own defense, because we provide it for them. If it wasnt for us, many of our allies would not be able to sip their lattes or drink wine for lunch. They'd either be working 60 hour weeks to pay the taxes for their own strong defense, or they'd be toiling in camps under dictatorships. And what do we get except a lot of jealousy and hatred. Its almost a protection racket, so I think we should start charging for our services!

Beyond the blame for the economic mess (and there's plenty of blame to go around- no party is innocent), I think we are at the beginning of a fundamental cultural change. It seems there is now a tendency to turn from, if not outright against, things male, white, Christian, and American. In their place I predict we will see sort of an "inverse nationalism", an embracing of other cultures, a decline in the work ethic and in assuming personal responsibility for one's own life, and a further degredation in the institution of marriage. I also predict a further distancing of this nation from Israel and its policies, and an eventual return to the post-Vietnam view of the military.

Very very sad but I would have to say I agree with your prediction. The people seem to be doing a 180 deg. from what made the country great! But I read the end of the book......we win in the end! :)
