Well, had a guy come by last night to buy some stripes for his '73 Duster, and the first thing he said was, "WHO painted that car?"  I said, "I did."  He was shocked and asked how much I would charge to paint his Duster. He said the body work will be 100% done and all I will need to do is sand it, shoot it, and buffit. Long story short, he'll be bringing the Duster up here possibly this weekend or definitely by next weekend  :cooldancing:  It's going Sub-Lime with hood black out treatment and black vinyl roof (which he is going to have me do as well)

You mean the '73 in the background of some of those pictures?

No, that is actually one of my cars.  It needs a bunch of body work.  I picked it up in trade for my old Ram Charger and, frankly, it is not what I expected. The passenger side quarter is basically shot, the rocker panels are rusty as heck, interior is toast, and it basically needs way too much work for what it is.  Good news is it's got a 360 in it (not running) and since I have other work lined up, I am not pressed to get to work on it.  I can take my time and accumulate the parts as cheaply as possible and maybe come out alright on it in the long run.  Plans are to rebuild the 360 for some HP gains and then either paint it Red or maybe Plum Crazy...We'll see.  I'll start another thread on it once I get the ball rolling.  It may be awhile before I start on it.  I've got 3 customers lined up now and then if nothing else comes in to help pay off the debts my wife & I have built up through intense stupidity, I'll probably jump onto my 70 Challenger R/T next.  I've got most of the parts accumulated for it and am about 60-75% done with the body work on it.  Only real cash I'll need to lay out for that build will be for the engine rebuild.  Still haven't decided if it is worth more as a restifed #'s matching 383 car or with a nice 440 in the engine compartment and the #'s matching engine on a stand for the next owner...

440 in the engine compartment and the 383 on a pallet.  Although, if I had the #'s engine and trans for mine, I would have left it that way.

Hey Gary, would you mind registering your Duster when you get the chance?

Whenever is fine. I'm trying to get the numbers up. Figures, people said if I started a registry that they'd register but not many did. I've been doing it since Dec. 2008 and I'm almost at the 100 mark. Then again, I submitted 20 or so of them myself! ;D

That looks great!

Maybe I should paint my '67. Might help sell it as I can't get any takers on it in its current cruddy looking paint.

That car reminds me of a 4 speed Hemi car I saw once back in the 60's at the old Srato-Rods track on McGuire AFB, but the car was Maroon and had Crager mags. The dude drove it in, uncapped his headers and bolted on some slicks and won the race beating all the trailered race cars, including my friends '68 Hemi RR that did mid 11's. For those that weren't around back then, that was FAST in the 60's. The automatic records were faster than the sticks back then, so my friend had to spot him (SS/C vc SS/CA) and couldn't track him down in the final. Two Mopars in the final was very common back then in Super Stock racing.  :grinyes:
