1971 Duster
« on: May 30, 2009 - 09:19:58 AM »
I am listing my 1971 Duster that I have just about finished working on.  I am asking $5,000 for it. It has been my daily driver for th epast 6 months or so (while I have been "restoring it").  It has a 225 slant six, auto, & power steering.  Not to many other options.  I was an a/c car but the underhood stuff is missing.  I have a thread that shows the car befoer i started it

http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=53095.0

The paint & body are decent, daily driver type.  It is not a show car but does look really good.  Obvously, it could use a set of fancy wheels.  I have installed new carpet, re-done the back seat with a legendary cover, installed a new front seat, installed white face guages (all work).  The previous owner re-wired the entire car with a Painless Performance wiring kit.  The only bad part about the car is the tranny slips between 1st & 2nd due to the previous owner never fixing a rear seal gone bad.  I fixed it and it no longer leaks but the damage was done  I have been driving it this way since the day I got it and I am sure it will last for a long time.  I've driven it over 250 miles in one day with no problems and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere - although the lakc of a/c kinda sucks for long drives.  Also, when I had the new windshield installed, the installer thought the windshield gasket was okay to re-use. He was wrong and now it leaks.

The best part about this car is how clean it is underneath - there is not a speck of rust under there.  It has been a North Texas car its entire life and it shows.  I guarantee you will not find a car that has a less rusty underside because you cna't get any lower than ZERO.

I am located in the Fort Worth, TX area.

PM, email, or call if interested

Thanks
Gary

Not really sure what the name of the color is.  I bought the "oops" paint at Finishmaster.  It's kind of  like Sun Yellow.   A little brighter than FY1.  And yes, it sure is nice underneath.  It would look even better if I had the time to wipe it down before I took the pictures bu tmy budddy was in a hurry to close up shop that day.

Let me know if he changes his mind.  You wouldn't have to drive it to me I would just pick it up when I dropped off my wife.
