    Want to see what a new Challenger looks like after nearly 8-hours of body detailing?  We did a wash, clay bar treatment, rotary polish, rotary wax and then some hand detailing.  This car is big!!!  :faint:  The end result is amazing with the surface slippery like an ice cube and reflecting like a mirror.  One thing we noticed is that this Hemi Orange is a metalflake paint.  Didn't realize that until after we finished and got it in the sun.  :bigsmile:

    It looks great. Did you tint the windows, or did it come that way?

    I bet either the original buyer did it or troutstreamnm did. Not many cars go too long in this area without tint.

    Tinted windows came with the car.  It is not listed on the window sticker as standard equipment or as an option  :dunno:  Maybe the original dealer in Las Vegas, NV installed them....I'm not complaining  :ylsuper:

    looks sweet. my sons a detail fanatic, with his clay bars, and chemistry and such. gotta envy anyone who can spend that long cleaning.   :2thumbs:

    Alot of work is an understatement  :faint:  I may do another coat of wax in a few weeks to get a solid protective layer on it then it should be set for a long, long time given it's a garaged car.  A California car duster and Meguiar's quick detail should be sufficient for show cleanup for a couple years (at least) unless I do some mud racing with it  ;)  :rofl:

    Using the clay bar is the most important step to get the job done right by removing the impurities from the paint's surface.    :2thumbs:  Looking good!  What type of rotary buffer did you use?  I've always used an orbital buffer for fear of burning the paint.

    Sorry, my mistake.  I used a Porter-Cable random orbital buffer.   :-[  The clay bar really makes the surface clean and smooth and is very easy to use too.  The polish and wax is where all the work is!  :eek4:

    That's the orbital buffer I have....been using it for about 5 years now.  I run the speed around a 3½ to a 4.  Great buffer IMO. I also use foam pads that I bought off the internet...I can't remember the name of them right now, but it came with 4 different pads depending upon the aggressiveness of the cleaning that is needed.  The best investment I ever made as far as detailing products go.
