On Edy magnum heads with chevy style rocker geometry, I just finished mocking up my pushrod/rocker arm geometry using the mid-lift principle to minimize rocker sweep across valve tip. Using Crower's rocker arms with the offset trunion would help center the rocker contact pattern on the valve stem. I used Comp Cam pro-magnum roller rockers which do not have any trunion offset.
Crower offers 1.6 rocker with 0.05 trunion offset, and they offer 1.7 rocker with 0.09 trunion offset. Both of these offsets should help improve the goemetry.
With the optimized rocker geometry, the pushrod holes need to be moved closer to the intake manifold side of the head when using magnum heads on an older LA block.
The first pic shows the roller contact using comp roller rockers; contact pattern is just visible on the masking tape. The second pic shows the mid-lift principle for reference.
