Fiat says we don't need the Hemi!!!!!!
« on: June 01, 2009 - 05:52:47 PM »
Apparently the CEO of Fiat feels that Chrysler doesn't need the Hemi. They are acquiring 20% of Chrysler, so he may be able to kill it! Geez, I hope that doesn't happen! :villagers:

If they do away with the HEMI then you can kiss Chrysler goodbye.  I bet you the HEMI accounts for at least 30% of all sales, and probably near 50% in the trucks.  How many Rams do you see that don't have a HEMI?

They better learn the US market before they going srcewing things up like Daimler did.Chrysler does need more fuel effiicent and new technology hybrid vehicles and such but the Hemi does sell very well in the trucks and cars,I love my 5.7 2500 Ram!

I think if they really want to make any engine get better fuel mileage they can do it.  Not sure that Fiat will completely be running the show.  If they do it wont be for long in my opinion.  The Hemi went away before and came back it can do it again for sure.   :stirpot: :2cents:

The 05 and up hemi 1500s with cylinder droping gets better mpg than all the other v8s offered so the fuel issue is moot . :stirpot:

Fiat isn't the problem.   The US Government owning Chrysler (& now GM) is the major problem.   Obama will decide what you drive, what engines, etc.    Just wait -- this is going to be a disaster  (imo)

He is not going to decide what I drive or how I drive it.  No one man can do that.  They may make laws on future cars and what mileage that they get but only if we let them.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch....

Life always throws surprises at you. HEMI is in our best selling products. All of which are doing well. Now that does not mean we will throw a Hemi at everything...

I need a GIF of (Don't count you chickens before they hatch ) BTW....

I'm not up on this topic...   :dunno:

Soooo...if they do away with the HEMI, what will replace it?

Is there that deal where there has to be an average MPG for all the vehicles by the manufacturer?

One thing is that Chrysler doesn't have a lot of those little tiny cars in their line up which ups the average MPG for the manufacturers.  Chevy has those little egg shaped cars, whatever they're named, Ford has the focus, etc....  What does Chrysler have?
