got my SIDEPIPES on.!
« on: June 01, 2009 - 07:38:25 PM »
Finally got them on today 6/01/09
HOOKED up 6/15/09
go to post #25 to see video.

.
It cuts down a little bit on my clearance..
Looks like I will not be able to lower the front like I wanted..

They Are NOT hooked up YET...(ran out of time)
but they will be..
And it will be a VERY EASY job to hook them up..

It was very easy to bolt them on..
actually weld the hangars on and then bolt the pipes to the hangars..
Took less than 2 hours..

.

.

.

.

.
I am in the last legs of getting the car like I envisioned it back in August '08, before I actually bought one..

Does somebody make those or did you custom build them yourself?

For the longest time I thought I was going to have to build them myself, going
through all the hassle of getting somebody to do the chroming of the collector and all that..

but just before Memorial Day I got an email from JCWhitney that they were having a big sale..
So I went there and typed in Sidepipe, and these came up..
$283.00 delivered to the door..

I love that you have the balls to do that to a new Chally. I've always loved the retro sidepipes. Very interesting look on a new car. Good job.

I had no idea anyone still made sidepipes. Learn something new everyday...Good luck with 'em, no way they would last long on my roads. :dunno:

Yeah, I can't wait to hear what they sound like..
Unfortunately it will be at least 2 weeks..
I am out of town on a job so I can't get to it..
If they sound anything like they did on my `Cuda,, ohhhh yeahhhh.!!!

Some have expressed "concern" about how far out they stick.
..................The tires stick out farther....................

I have to agree ti takes balls to add them to a new Chall , however of all the mods you have made to the car I like this one the least , but different strokes !! I lived through the era of sidepipes & never even considered adding them to one of my vehicles so I guess I haven`t changed LOL  :2thumbs:
