Edelbrock LD4B Manifold

I picked up an old Edelbrock manifold for my 318, it's a 4 barrel dual plane.

Has any body run one before? If so how did you like it?

It might be the best Intake you can get for 318 heads You did good.

I am planning on running a Edelbrock 600 CFM on it.  Hopefuly this will cure my stalling problem.    Glad to know that I scored a good manifold.

It was good enough for Chrysler to put a part number on and list in the old Direct-Connection catalog. If you haven't bought a carb yet consider the ED 650 Thunder AVS. You can adjust the secondary opening point with a screwdriver

I haven't bought the carb yet, so thanks for the advice.

I have a Edel 650 AVS with manual choke.  Using the tuning book that came with the carb, I could not dial it in correctly for my altitude of 5000 feet, was running way to rich.
So I bought an Edelbrock 6593 Air/Fuel Ratio Monitor kit.  Was easy to install, and was accurate enough to tune every circuit in the carb:  idle, transfer slots, main jets, secondary jets, and accel pump.   I'm very pleased with the results.  Bought extra O2 sensor fittings for the exhaust manifold so I can use the sensor on other vehicles in the future....like my thermoquad for the 360 I'm building.

Aren't the Edelbrock's rated for dry flow cfm's? I know the Street Avengers are rated for wet flow (fuel and air), which means the 570 cfm Street Avenger puts out 638 cfm at a dry flow rating, comparing apples to apples.

When you say best for 318, does that mean it has 318 size ports ?

YES. But it's not a problem if the manifold ports are smaller than the head

I had one of those on a 318. I took the Edelbrock and LD4B off with a file and painted the intake to match the engine. It looked pretty stealthy with the factory part number on it. You scored a great 318 intake for sure.

Well the Avenger probably is wet flowed but it is a tiny carb and very responsive on a 318

In normal times it might be a toss-up what to use on a stock motor, a Holley or a ED carb. Ditto with ED manifolds or one of the others. With today's economy I'll always choose to put my money into the American economy and not send it to China. My
