AJ broke his long winless streak in Pro Stock and beat all the mega-buck Summit and Jeg's cars after qualifying #2, going low for every round but the final where he beat the red-hot #1 qualifier Mike Edwards with a hole shot.
In Super Stock, Lloyd Wofford, who was low qualifier at the last race with a sub-9 second pass with his SS/JA small block Aspen made it to the final round from the #6 qualifiying position with a string of 10.3's including a
perfect light in round 4 until his game .021 light in the final just wasn't quite enough to overcome a .006 light by a 7 time national event winner.
In Stock eliminator A V/SA 1980 Dodge Diplomat was #1 qualifier with a -1.265 14.535 on a 15.80 index
and S.E. Buchanan used a string of great lights to get to the final round in his '67 Barracuda.
