« on: June 03, 2009 - 03:41:34 PM »
Does anyone know where and who, if anyone, makes these ? :clueless: I would like to get a set for the Chally but I don`t want to have to drill any holes in the chrome trim on the wheel-well openings. :1zhelp: PLEASE

I saw something once that gave me an idea,  take regular mudflaps & pop rivet trim like used in custom vans, boats & RVs. It has aluminum inside & can be molded to fit the contours of your fenders.  I bought some locally once from an RV dealer by the foot.

if you trim the contour of the mud flap to match the inside wheel opening, you can clip them on with plain old binder clips, and then squeeze the little wire handles together and the handles will come off.  When you want to remove them, just put the handles back on the clips and remove them.  Works great!!

:worshippy Thanks FJ5 sounds easy enough to do   :working:  and I don`t have to buy a 100 ft. roll of the other trim either, but it is also a good 2nd plan. :2thumbs:

They used to be commonly available at the chain auto stores like Chief and Pep Boys; I have a set on mine from that timeframe for the same reason (no drilling...).  If you keep an eye on ebay (clip mud flaps, search title and description) you can find them now, though the one that popped up today said 'trans-am' on it...

One thing on binder clips; you might want to paint/oil/something those spring clips as they are very prone to rust.
