to CC.com! There is stamped numbers on the case by the pan rail in front of the neutral safety switch. I have a chart to see what the number is to the year. Also the Valve Body will have a date code right on it ,but that could have been swapped.

thanks for that let me ask this if i could . I bought a b&mtranspak #10228 for a 727 out of a 1970 fury III all original so they say and i have no reason to dought one owner car. I am useing the street mode , put the valve body does not have it all, the down shift assembly is just the cover on the valve body, and there is no spring in the middle of the booster valve assembly. Is this ok  also if i am looking down at the valve body the 1-2 and2-3are the only valves the picture shows 1 above those two is that a different year or what.thanks ED

The Kit should be fine. If you look on your VB,the last two numbers of the year are on it. (yours should say 70)

I had the info in this thread, but the pics got cleaned out (again) by the "upload folder clean out process"  :stomp:    I will do a new thread with the info and have the data stored some where else so the pics/info will stay there. I will not be able do it till tuesday when I get back to the shop.

It is on the last chart on the far right column, '84-'85 Dodge Truck with a 318.

If you post some clear pics of the VB I can probably tell you manual or automatic shift.(it is probably an automatic shift)

You are the best thank you so very much.    I see in the older 727 's [70-74] the rear spline is smaller then in the newer ones what year did they change. and thanks again. Ed

If you mean the output shaft spline, they are all the same thru all the years.
