Looks good with my convertible! (now if I only had a 1:1 scale version like I do with the vert!)

It's the recently released AMT 1:25 kit.
The model comes with a nice decal sheet, however, it didn't include the classic R/T stripes.  I had some 1:25 '71 R/T stripe decals in my spare model parts box and was going to use that. They looked to be about the right size, but it had a cutout for the door handle that was in a much different location than the '09.  I was trying to figure out how to modify my old decal to look right when I spotted a guy on ebay selling '09 R/T stripes he had made up.  I bought a set and as you can see the guy did a great job with his decal sheet!
I had planned to get a new Challenger this year, and B5 is my favorite color.  However, even if I hadn't ended up unemployed this year, with little prospect for good paying employment anytime in the foreseeable future, I'm guessing the greedy dealers and Chrysler's problems would have thwarted my goal to get my 1:1 scale version!
As long as I can only have a model, I'm thinking I should set my sights higher.  AMT has an SRT8 Challenger kit too.  I'm thinking I should get one and make myself a B5 SRT8, why settle for an R/T if you can get an SRT8 instead!

Are you still waiting for your B5 car?  I bougt one on Sat, loaded, but 5spd wheras I wanted a 6spd.  I posted a list of 20ish dealers claiming to have B5 cars on their lots.  There all over the US.  The list is posted on Challengertalk.com and others added to my list.

I'm just frustrated I didn't have time to build that B5 SRT8 model I planned to do!
Bought the kit, haven't even ripped the cellophane off the box yet.
Beggars can't be choosers I guess, I'll have to live with the R/T....
I have an orange '71 hemi Challenger model that would sure be nice full size, but I don't have room in the garage for it now.  I'll need a model backyard buddy lift first so I can stack cars out in the garage!

If you can believe it I saw two of those yesterday.I had stopped at the advance store down here in Richland,MS.Looked out  and saw one heading south on hwy 49.It wasn't 2 minutes later there was another one. That was the first I've seen of that color. They look darn good compared to the orange that seems to be on most I've seen.

I wish I could do that... I don't have the model skill....

This was by accident.  I ran into the one on the left at a Subway, the one on the right pulled up when his daughter drove by and saw the two of us talking and told her dad to get there ASAP with his.... So here we are.

Hey, 2/3 of you are lawbreakers! (no front license plate displayed, required here in IL)
Lucky that was a Subway and not a donut shop or 2 of you guys would have got a ticket!
I have yet to see a single B5 on the roads around here in my travels, I have seen a couple at the local stealerships, a bunch at local shows, and one at a cruise.
If you want an already made model of one, there is a 1:18 scale one just coming out.  They are selling them as a 2 pack WIX filter promo (along with a B5 '70 RT).  I expect the B5 1:18 will also be available individually. The diecast is a sunroof version though.  My model (before and after the magic water treatment  ;) ) has no sunroof.
Sunroofs.... :P
Hey Ryan, you taking your car to the Advantage Chrysler show next weekend? I thought it would be funny to get a bunch of new Challengers there with license plate frames on them from other dealers where people have been buying their cars.
Sort of a clever way to stick it to them for the $6000 "dealer adjustment" stickers those clowns put on the windows of every Challengers they try to sell!!!!   ;D
