Old news?? ENGLE CAMS has been bought out
« on: June 09, 2009 - 07:01:39 PM »
No cam spec info on the Engle website, here's why.

From http://www.cal-look.com/forum/index.php?topic=30149.0

May 11 was their last day.  The WELL known and trusted company ENGLE CAMS has been bought out by So. Cal Imports, also known as A.C. Industry, and Tri Mil.
Hope Engle cams dont end up being made in China later on.
I had heard about might close up but not about So Cal deal.  I sure hope the quality doe's not drop on the Engles.
So Cal sells some cheap crap ya know...

That is Very Bad news , they are a small company but have been around forever .
I once had an arguement with Chris there , he was Sure I was Dick LaHaie on the Phnoe & would not belivev I wasn`t Dick LOL
So I guess Dick was buying all his cams from them as well
They made some of the best cams I could find & Had a warrenty they would honor to boot if a cam failed
Awesome company to deal with & an awesome product

 Sad Day  :sadwavey:

Engle cams website is up and running again.
Contact address is:

Compare to So. Cal. Imports contact info:

So appears So.Cal. is the new owner??  Anyone know more details?

Thats sad. I really like Engle cams. Eclipse audio got bought out a couple of years ago, they now make junk, Maytag got bought out and now the company is just pasting a quality name on a regular washer/dryer, junk. No real faith that Engle will be any different.    :sadwavey:    Just my  :2cents:

I hope there is not significant change as I was planning on picking up a couple of cams this winter. However, maybe I'll call now and see what stock status is and pick them up. Certainly if they are on hand now, they are overstock from prior to the pruchase and they should be okay.

But, if they picke dup the whole enchilada, then they should have all the specs, cores, tooling, etc to continue to produce good product. Only time will tell though.

I hope there is not significant change as I was planning on picking up a couple of cams this winter.

I ordered my Engle K56H cam a couple months before they sold out;  They ground it to match my lobe choice and LSA, so was "custom" to some extent.

Bullet Cams offers very similar grinds to the "old Engle" products, both hydraulic and solid.  I have read good things about Bullet on this forum and the charger forum.
http://www.bulletcams.com/Masters/HClobes.htm

Lunati catalog on page 175 lists their "904" tappet hydraulic cams.  Nice selection of lobes offered there too.

So there are definitely choices besides "hoping for the best" with the new Engle cams.

Man that's too bad. I just bought my solid cam and a set of springs from them the end of April. The fella on the phone answered right away, was really helpful in putting together what I was after. In a short bit I had a cam being made, not off the shelf and even had a better price than most other outfits. Good deal.
I would have bought all my needed valvetrain parts from them but the cam and springs was all they had.
That kind of service is fading away.
Well best of luck to all the workers. God bless em'.
Roll on.

Lunati still has some awesome profiles available , this is the other cam grinds I have been using a lot of as the good grinds were available through UltraDyne & have been continued through Lunati
