A few rust bubbles turned into...
« on: June 09, 2009 - 08:51:20 PM »
So, I had a few rust bubbles on the bottom of my left door that were bothering me. Took the car to a body shop and they said "no problem, it's an easy fix". Then I get the dreaded phone call once they got into it. "Your door is junk, looks like some high school kids project. There's 3 patches that were tacked over top of your rusty door skin. Other than that it is a great candidate for a new skin though". Luckily, I had that '73 door that I made into a "70 and they said it's useable.

That is good that you had that for sure.  Never know what you will find when you get into some of the body parts that someone has screwed up in the past and pasted it off as good.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Oh Popsy, i am so glad you explained what happened....... :faint: i thought for sure you were out racing Big Block Barracuda's again and they literally blew your door off this time :burnout: :roflsmiley: i was so scared :22yikes: all i could think of was "hope it wasn't for pinks, hope it wasn't for pinks" glad i was wrong. :woohoo:

Great to see you are looking after my prized possesion Daddio....... :bananasmi amazing how little spots can turn into a complete door change in a matter of seconds on the phone :2thumbs: make sure you keep that shell because door skins are available now and it would be a good candidate for a reskin

Good thing you had the extra door!

I really like the all white, looks very nice and not often seen.  :grinyes:
