are these the type wheels you are talking about?
71 dodge polara custom. sadly she met the crusher about 6 months ago she was way rotten and parts were non existence! but we have the 360 and HD 727 out of it. my dad had that car since 1990 i drove it to high school. it had the original paint GK6 autumn bronze metallic. the wheels say western whell on the back side 7's and 8's. they are on his 65 dodge D100 with a 493 stroker now. thats some nice work on that overflow bottle.

Spent most of the afternoon making a "hose" to adapt the 440 source water pump that exits out the passenger side to the Allstar rad. I bought 4 -90 deg stainless elbows ( 1 3/4) to  fab this. I ran out of gas for the tig welder so I didn't quite finish. I couldn't think of any other way to hook up the pump to the rad.I couldn't find a hose that would fit. This method is common on stock cars. I'll paint it flat black so it doesn't stand out so much.
Had a fun day! Making progress! Nothing I enjoy better than working in the garage on a nice sunny day with the tunes cranked! :2thumbs:

Don,Good to meet you as well! It was fun helping change out your window! I think I enjoy working on them just as much or more than driving them! When ever I finish a car ( if that's possible, as they are never finished) I get bummed out !LOL

I bought a repop licence plate holder at Carlisle. It worked great at covering up the damage  DAS caused!! :clapping:  also bolted in the Shumacher torque strap! It fit great! It sure is getting crowed in the engine compartment. Not much room left! Ah the joys of big blocks!

Tonight I put the drivers side mirror on that I bought at Carlisle. I know it's not correct for a 1970 but I liked the 71-74 mirrors better. I bought a nutsert tool and had to go out to Lowes to get stainless screws as the mirror came with crappy steel screws. I had to shorten them to about 3/4" long( they were 1 1/4" ) as they were hitting the inner bracing in the door. I also had to grind down the diameter of the head a bit to get it to seat in the mirror. Crazy took me like 2 hours!

I've never heard a hhr called that, that is funny.  when mounted to rad what is the total depth toward engine. Just thinking out loud and might work on the drag car if theres enough room.  Thanks

Boy did I have a fun day today! :woo: Radio was tuned into a station that plays older classic rock that was made when our cars were new, kinda put me in the mood! And it was a beautiful sunny day here for a change ( no rain!) I had been dreading doing the exhaust as that's not my favourite job!
Anyway, I installed the Magnaflow exhaust ,almost done. Tig welding in shorts and sandals grooving to the tunes! My opinion about the system is that it is pretty good! I had to "cut and paste" a bit as the one pipe didn't line up with the header very well.I have headmans as I posted earlier so they have a "ball socket" type mounting flange. That was handy, I didn't need to be dead nuts straight on the header. It mounted up straight to the drive-shaft and it installed pretty symmetrical,, except for the section that goes from the cross over pipe to the headers. Luckly I had a mandrel bent elbow left over from another exhaust project to use, but the engines in our cars are mounted over to passenger side I assume for clearance around the steering box. The Magnaflow system is all stainless( magnet doesn't stick!). I did have to drill the floor section to mount the muffler hangers, so people with numbers matching cars would have to do something else to mount the mufflers. I haven't finished mounting the tail pipes to a hanger yet I'll utilize the stock holes in the trunk for hangers though. More fab work out of stainless.
I can't wait to hear it run! Soon I hope!
