Ripped out the seats and carpet today. I was excited to see no rust! I couldn't believe it!. Some moron for some reason I don't get hacked a hole in the tranny tunnel? Why I don't know ,it was in the wrong spot for a 4 speed? :dunno:
So I fabbed up a patch and welded it in.  I cut out the hole for my shifter . Thanks Alan! Subframe connectors next!

New quarter window in a new seals for both quarter windows. Replaced one of the wheels on the passenger window regulator. Slap stick shifter all in! New window rubber down stops., new lens and chrome shifter plate.
The "to do" list is getting shorter!

I bought a set of US cartool subframe connectors but decided to make my own. I didn't like the fit. Material costs was $25! and I have enough material to do 2 cars! I drilled 3/4" holes every 6 " and welded in a 3/4" OD tube. It did make a difference in strength! I put a large adjustable wrench on the end while clamped in a vice and tried to twist. I could move it a little before the 3/4" tube was welded in ( just a little) and none when it was welded in! :2thumbs: Material is 1x2 .100" wall square tube. I plan on strengthening up the front subframe too. To much twist stock! This will never be a museum piece so I don't feel too bad building it how I want.
