Going to give it a try myself. Just looking around for an English wheel now. I have a buddy with one I can borrow too?
Poster board is cheaper than steel! Almost the right colour too
I'm thinking I'd like to use the original wheel well mouldings. Cut out that part of the fender, space it out the required amount then build up to it. I currently have a 1/2" spacer behind the front wheels. Thinking when I'm done I'll remove them and have some more clearance. It's a challenge, something else to learn/conquer!

Brad,
Check out the Maximus video on Youtube.

They added metal to the tops of the quarters and fenders too.

The wheels look great!  Do they make them in a 20" or is 18" the biggest?  Can you customize the back spacing?

Member Boydsdodge sold them to me and asked for them back if I ever sold them so I agreed, he gets first dibs.
I thought it would be handy to have an English wheel when making panels so I found one on Kijiji brand new in the box for less than half of a new one. So I went for a drive last night and bought it.
As luck would have it now is starting to be my busy time work wise, that and the weather has been crappy so not much done yet.

Here is a link to where I bought them. Looks like 18" is the biggest? Yep you can order any back spacing you want. Mine were exactly what I ordered.  :2thumbs:

Wait, are you really running the 315's on the front and 295's on the back or was that a typo? I noticed you mocked the 315's in the front but I'm going to assume you just did that so you could make flares to the wider tires and you're actually running the 295's in the front.

If you haven't seen JCG Restoration & Custom's 1970 Challenger... I'd highly recommend looking around online for info/pictures.  It's got fully custom suspension, so that doesn't translate to your car, but he flared the front fenders and is running a 315 in the front.  His renderings look a lot like your cardboard mock ups (for the flairs), but his final product is a bit different.  I think that front air damn would look sweet if you tied it into the front lower portions of the fenders and maybe blacked it out to match the hood with the Dodge spelled out in white.  Just brainstorming here.  :)

How do you like the quality of those wheels?  I'm digging this new phase of your project!!

Yes I've seen that build, sweet car, nice chassis. Wish I had t hat budget !I'm leaning towards more of a widebody look instead of flairs. I've spend hours searching the net looking at ideas.
Yes I'm running the 315's up front. They are 1" shorter/height than the 295's and running a 451" I figure I need all the tire up front that I can get.
Quality of the wheels seems great. They are pretty lite 28 lbs  for a 18X11 rim Performance wise that's good but not sure abut durability yet?  :dunno:
