Looking good , Too bad you weren't able to run the autocross and let those fat front tires hang out. Good luck on the Mopar Muscle deal.  :bigsmile:

Agreed. Heck, these are the way the 71-74 Javelins should have done them instead of that psuedo Corvette look they adopted.


Here are some pics of the '70 Road Runner fender curve I was talking about. Some subtle work here would net the ability to put some HUGE steamrollers under the skin. Keep that in mind for future purchases, hint, hint.

I agree , also looks much easier to modify compared to the Challenger!
The big tires .... the only negative I found is it follows ruts in the road , but I expected that. Turns easy at slow speeds, steering not difficult etc... I got caught in quite a downpour on the way home and was freaking out but they did not bad at all in the rain. I was surprised! :o 
The ride is not as bad as I expected either. That could be from the double adjustable QA1 shocks or the new seats? I know last year driving to Carlisle I almost needed a chiropractor by the time I got there, this year it was much more comfortable! Rides like a modern car :2thumbs:

What about using a steering stabilizer (shock type) like 4wd trucks use?  May take some ingenuity, but they help keep the big tires from following ruts.

Early Monte Carlos and other 50-60's Chevys had that too. Its not too bad once your used to it. Only happens on badly rutted roads. No big deal. Good idea though

Thanks everyone, they sure were a TON of work. Much more than I had anticipated!  :grinyes: Can't say I would want to do it again any time soon.  :eek4:
I was surprised at all the positive comments, not at all what I was expecting. Mopar crowd usually hangs on the purist side of things. I even had Mopar Muscle magazine say it was one of there top 10 picks at Carlisle and took some pictures and had me fill out an info sheet. Said it would be in an upcoming issue? :dunno: They asked if I was coming down to any other shows this summer for a feature shoot, but most likely not. These weekends while fun are expensive.   
While heading back to the hotel from the show (Saturday I think it was, maybe Friday ) I was flying around the on ramp when I looked over to see if it was clear when I spied a Sublime Hellcat Challenger. The driver was filming my car with a I phone. He started to get on it like inviting me to join and for a second I was pumped to see what it would do but with my alternator/heating issues  I decided to pass. The guy was black and looking at the Carlisle website when I got home I'm pretty sure it was Ralph Gilles - president of SRT! :ylsuper:  Like how many other black dudes are driving around in a new sublime Hellcat at Carlisle! :lol:   I regret not putting the hammer down to see if I could keep up.... :banghead:
For the record I WAS good this year at Carlsile, never went faster than 90 and didn't get any tickets! :grinno:


Someone on facebook sent me a link to a instagram that Ralph Gilles posted a picture of my car!  Cool stuff! It was him!

Your car is looking incredible, all the work youre putting into it. It definitely is unique and all yours!

I wish I could have come to Carlisle, but my car has been sitting virtually untouched with the manifold and carbs off on my work bench for the past several months. My wife and kids and work have had me so busy I havent had the time to devote to it, plus its so hot down here now I probably have to wait a few more months before putting it back together. :pullinghair: :horse:

But congrats on everything and for being a great automotive inspiration for all of us  :cheers:

I had a blast riding in the Chall , rides well & handles great too , a few more laps on the autocross would have been awesome , should have given the Hellcat a run though  :burnout:

I was wondering if the side stripe would look better of you added the line fatter and along the midway body line of the car :dunno: so from side on it shows the line straight, i personally think the stripe would look better that way, be ggod to see a photoshop of it to see. :popcorn: :cheers:

Thanks Kenny, The strip is a tricky deal as it depends what angle your looking at it from. It looks normal when your looking straight down on it but distorted from the side. Same would happen if you made it fatter around the fender bulge . The R/T stripe might be the way to go, I'll live with it for now....
