Interior upgrade
« on: June 12, 2009 - 12:58:46 AM »
I started upgrading my interior by redoing my plastic peices with an immitation leather.  I also re did my dash by fiberglassing and deleting the center speaker area.  So far I got my kickpanels done.

some pics of the dash so far

That's pretty innovative!  Nice job.  Keep the pics coming.

How well do the speakers fit when the kick panels are in the car?

It will be interesting to see how the dashpad holds up under the heat of the sun, and the vibrations from driving.

As for those kick panels...How much do you want for them?   :naughty:  Those things look great!!   :2thumbs:

The speakers fit is pretty good but there deep so thats why i needed that 1inch plastic peice to bring them out.

It doesnt really get that hot here in San Jose plus it is in the garage most of the time.  As for vibration it cant be anyworse then the new cars with the all plastic interiors.... I hope.

The guy I got it from actually had a kit for the Firbirds and Camaros. Not sure if just the material comes in different colors but here is his site  http://www.specializedstainless.com/

okay a little bit of an update and a little how to

first i started by making a pattern and then adding about a half inch where it will ben stitched.

after the two peices were stitched together i then folded over the excess and taped it down to be stitched

Next I just glued the seem part down first then went ahead to glue the rest down for the finish results

That and the ash tray and glove box lid are finished so far.  I should be getting the dash back this tuesday.
