Yes it will be done before then. It really doesnt take long to do a panel i just work on it about an hour a day but if i just went at it i can probably finish it in a weekend.

Worked on the car all day today and got a lot done. So far both back panels are done except for some minor touch up. And here are the pics from today.
I had to cut the outside lip that raps around in order for the panel to slid back far enough so the two panels wont rub when i open and close the door

I made a little arm rest for the back to match the front

Dude, that looks so great.  I really like it.  All you need now is a custom armrest that folds down between the front seats with a cupholder that pulls out of the front of it.   I might try to build one of those myself.

Hey what did you do to the panels to make them look all grey?  are they sanded?

I used 60 grit sand paper to get all the black dye/paint off. It was real quick and left a rough finish for the glue to stick too.

That looks great!  :ylsuper: I can wait to try my hand at it! How did the window fuzzies fit. I have been worried that they would not go back on because of the thickness?

The window fuzzies went on with out a problem. Not sure if there different between years but mine just rested on the door and then just get riveted on with some plastic spacers.

I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of 'custom' interiors.  Most are so over the top and/or don't really fit with the older cars they are installed in, but yours is absolutely the exception!  Yours is understated, and as someone else here said looks like an 'original' interior of a more current car.  I'd love to see your car in person when you're done but since I'm on the east coast I'll just have to hope you post lots of pics when you're done.  Great work!

Thank you guys for all the compliments. It has taken me a lot of work to do what I have so far.  I didn't want anything over the top and to look as much original but still have a modern feel to it.

I have some power leather seats out of my 1994 Trans Am that I have been throwing around the idea of getting them redone to look like the original seat then installing them. I like them cause of the power lumbar adjustments i just need to find a new air pump/motor before I do it.

I thought about Camaro/Trans Am seats too, they have a very similar shape, but modern.  I found that a nice tan leather set just couldn't be had, and a new set of leather seat covers was over $700.

I highly recommend these.  Mazda RX8.  I don't have mine installed yet, just set in place.  I still need to make brackets, but they are going to be nice.

Black ones are much easier to find, then the tan.

I really love your interior, it looks great.  Good Job Justin!
