After continuous iritation from temps creeping up in my car I finally ordered a cooling fan and connector for an 06 HHR and put it on. Tons of people on Moparts seem to run this fan so I figured I'd give it a try too.
I paid like $75 shipped from Rock Auto. The whole deal was a little more than half of the cost ($150) of the 4000cfm rated single 16" Permacool fan it replaced. The old fan was bolted to a $100 aluminum shroud on top of that too.
This thing moves a ton of air, and still clears the March pulley and cone by about 1/2" or so. Before my temps would slowly creep up to 210, now they don't ever budge past my thermostat temp of 180. I almost (currently non A/C) can't wait to drive it in 90+ degree weather to see how it does. If this didn't work I was going to switch to a mechanical fan with a thermal clutch. I wanted to bolt on the Lincoln MK8 fan, but there is just not enough room between the radiator and water pump pulley.
All in all, the $75 gamble was well worth it! Rounding out my cooling system is a universal Summit aluminum radiator 19"x31" I believe, a stock 6 vane water pump, and a Stant premium 180* thermostat with a 90* MP housing.
