New "Bee"
« on: June 14, 2009 - 03:07:15 PM »
Not me, but the car.  Sorry for the pun, but we had the opportunity of a lifetime to pick this up.  It's a 69 Super Bee, originally green with black interior, 383 4-speed.  We're not quite sure how long ago the restoration was done, but the PO did just about everything imaginable to clone it as an A-12, short of the VIN and fender tag.  It has a 69 date code 440-6 pack (haven't had a chance yet to see if the carbs and intake are original), dana rear, 11 inch drums, lift off hood, 6" steelies with Wide Oval redlines, and more.  It has Headman headers with 3 inch exhaust and H pipe.  The car is unreal and incredibly clean, with the underside painted, also.  We need to do some work on the carbs because it has mostly sat for the last couple years, but that will be taken care of soon.

A12 cars are real cool, and there is nothing wrong with having a clone.  It looks to be very well executed aswell :2thumbs:

Awesome.  I've almost pulled the trigger on two A12 clones in the past year.  If they'd had the same number of pedals as yours I would have done it.

I saw that car at the Candy Mansion earlier this year (I think on the sameday the pics were taken, I recall it being parked near the DJ). Congrats; that is one nice, clean car!

That's too funny!  That is exactly right.  My father-in-law, who currently has the car, rode with the guy he bought it from up to that show, and that was the first time he had seen it.  The guy that runs that show works for the dealer buddy of my father-in-law that he was with.  That's really the first time that car had been out in over 2 years.
