« on: June 15, 2009 - 04:16:01 PM »
We put on the flip[ top gas cap on the Chally. Is there no gasket between the trim ring and the 1/4 panel-metal on metal??? Also, is the cap on an angle becasue mine looks funny. Thanks

It's been years, but I'm 99% sure mine is metal on metal. The cap should go on straight.

no gasket between body and ring, i think their is or was a foam gasket from the flip cap base to filler tube,

Here is a pic of mine from the side.

Tom

If the ring is loose the little tangs can be bent to tighten it up.

almost looks like the cap that opens is warped.

The Charger one opens the other way. It fits better upside down. I have called year one and will have to acall them back again, I think it is not right. It figures, the back glass was wrong and the headliner was also wront. HA ha this build will put me in the nut house.

Has the quarter been replaced? I've heard that the cap area is not recessed as much as the originals making the flip cap stick out more.

We'll save you a seat at the Nut House.
