Selling a Charger.... Any Suggestions?
« on: June 16, 2009 - 06:12:25 AM »
I'm once again trying to sell my 71 Charger S.E. 440. Tried fleebay last week without getting near the reserve and have gotten ONE lowball offer.

It's been listed here and on a couple Charger sites. No bites.

Any suggestions?

I have never had any luck selling the 71-74 Chargers even though they are far superior to the 68-70 cars in aero & ride no one wants them , I am selling mine as well , not even a nibble

Yes, we 3rd gen. Charger guys are a small, but loyal group. Makes you feel like the black sheep sometimes!  :violin:

I've always liked the 71-4's, but never warmed up to the other years.

They're really not all that different from E-bodies. The 71&72's share the same engine compartment, interior floors, and maybe even front frame rails...?

:iagree:  I love the way your car is set up.  :grinyes:   It doesn't just go fast straight.

I love those cars.  When I was younger I saw one I will NEVER forget, I still have the picture in my head.  Not sure what year, just that it was that style, totally black, black everything, jacked up a tad, Cragar S/S rims with fat tires out back, Go-Wing and rear louvers.  It was the definition of "sinister looking".  :grinyes:

I go on ebay to look for a 1/16 scale version of the Street Charger, in red.  But since they are Paypal only now, I stopped looking....  :walkaway:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I think they just have the stigma of being in the years of declining power ratings and the end of the era. I agree they are great looking cars that drive and handle better than their predesecors. But you know, the chevy guys have the same issues with the colanade body chevelles of the mid to late 70s too.

The funny (funny strange, not ha-ha) thing is that you could still get a Big Block in a B-body after 71, but not an E-body.

Here she is. Will have to fix the pics.

Maybe take the car to some local shows or cruise nights and put a sign in it.

April.........Have tried cruises and the Mopar show last month. Good idea, but nada.

Dave........My car was originally TRIPLE BLACK! See Fender Tag. I'd discount it more with the old interior needing new seat covers and I'll keep the blue carpet.  I still have the black door panels, too.

.....or just trade me for the Challenger and we both win! LOL
