I Have the Coolest Wife - First Drive of the Season
« on: June 17, 2009 - 03:48:26 PM »
So Saturday just before my little guy goes down for is noon nap, I pull the car out of the garage, finally, to give the car a good tune and clean both the car and the garage.

My wife does some gardening and I cut the grass befor I do the "car stuff".  Well as I finsh up washing the car my wife says "so do you want to take the Cuda out to get flowers?" :22yikes:

My reply was, well sure, just let me finish cleaning the interior and tune the carb a bit and as soon a junior is up we can go. :burnout:

So she put the litrle guys cars seat in away we went.  This is the first time that my wife has rode in my car.  She siad it was ok.  Our little guy, he is 2, seemed to like it, or at least he did not hate it.

The next day we went and picked up our daughter (9) from camp in the Cuda.  Man was she surprised.  She rode in it a couple of times last year and loved it.

All in all we put about 50 miles on it this weekend.  I am still fiddeling with the carb, but it sure was fun to drive it again.  I am looking forward to many more miles this summer with the family!

Speaking of cool wives, the other day when I showed my wife my dad's Challenger for the first time, she looked at me with a dead straight face and said..."I want to drive it." I love my wife. :woo:

Heartwarming story!  It great when families can enjoy a hobby!!!  Sounds like you have plenty more trips to get flowers, trips to camp, trips to anywhere in your future with your family.

Very cool. Nothing like a supportive spouse to help you enjoy the car hobby.

Did you know you can fit three car seats across the back seat of an E body? Yup, been there done that. My wife used our Challenger as a daily driver for about four months one year while I was rebuilding the family truckster. Not only that, it was through the winter. We got some real funny looks pulling up to a stop light with a plugged hood scoop, four snow tires, and three little ones cinched down in the back seat in the dead of winter. Go tlots of thumbs ups those months as well as a few head shakers.

Haha that is cool (you do what you gotta do).

Thanks guys.

Yep it sure made me feel good.  Makes all the late nights worth it.

Cool story and glad you all get to enjoy your car.  I garantee that your kids will always remember that and want one for themselves when they get to the age they can drive or want yours.  I know that is what my kids do even though they are  older.

That is a cool story. My wife is stand offish to my car too so I know how that goes. Its good to have a wife who supports or at least tolerates a hobby she does not care much for.

My new Girl Friend is really good to my car also and can hardly wait for me to get it done to take a spin in it.  Can not wait to have her as my wife.

I know you have been back for a while now even though you have recently been on the road, any progress on your car yet?
