wow brad, what a thread...and what a saga. Its June now, and 6 months ago you said "Maybe by spring we'll resume marital relations!!"  :roflsmiley:
Well, is it working for ya now?
btw, my mom died summer 2007 also, and your story reminds me a LOT of mine over the past 2 years.
I may still decide to use DAS, because you had a couple situations working against you, mainly the importing part. If I do use them, I will definitely get an upper spot, have delivery condition very well documented at each end, and of course the insurance. I'll sleep on it a night or two before deciding, but frankly, joy riding can happen with any shipper. Its the luck of the draw.

And FJ5, your comments are exactly my sentiments too. You only live once, and specifically the 4 speed and rimblow...something about them...they are truly art in my opinion. That shifter, and the wood rimblow are the sexiest and best looking things to fill each hand of ANY car ever made. And the shaker, and then under it the 6 pack!!! Again, a couple of the greatest and most beautifully engineered parts ever to adorn an engine IMHO!

Congrats on the purchase!  She's a beauty for sure.  I bet waiting for the right car will be worth every minute once you get her home.

The car is now finally on its way from up north, down to Florida. Hopefully it will be here in the 5 to 7 days they quoted. I CANT WAIT.
Already bought the SEM black trim paint to touch up the steering column and glove box scratches, and the fj5 touchup paint for a couple small nicks. Want it to be more presentable before I show it off. :cooldancing:

Using a broker named National Transport LLC, enclosed carrier. But, not too promising to start out cause the seller says the guy showed up with a smaller open carrier, to transport it 45 miles to the enclosed carrier.
Makes me nervous cause each time you move it the odds of damage or joyriding goes up. Made the seller promise me he would take pictures of it while being loaded to prove the condition.
Now I can only cross my fingers.
I am south of Miami. I worked in Ocala for a year when I went to the Univ of Florida. Very nice town.

It only takes me 24 hours to drive to Florida to visit the family towing a 33 foot travel trailer. So your Cuda would have taken....oh maybe 18? :roflsmiley:
Kind of a green vanishing point remake? :grinyes: Seriously though you should have grabbed a flight and drove it home!  It's not that far! Would have made great memories!

thought about it, but didnt want to push the car. It is 38 years old, and has only 3000 miles on it the past 5 years. Could have made a great road trip, but with the tag issue (I cant register it without having it inspected here) I decided against it.
As for the 5 to 7 days, of course its possible he could be here the next day, but.. the carrier will probably be making 5 or 6 stops all over the eastern seaboard before making it down here. I will probably be the last stop on the run.
