Your work is coming along nice.

In case you haven't found out or didn't know.

Mig welding at areas that have Rust Bullet on them doesn't work very well...If at all. You'll have to use paint remover on areas already done that are already coated with Rust Bullet. Then laquer thinner, then a wet rag over area after. Wire brush real well and it should tac a weld. I found out that the Rust Bullet leaves some kind of a residue on the metal that makes it really hard to weld even after sanding it off.

i planned on grinding away anything that i needed to weld but maybe i'll give a good wipe down of xylene too

thanks :2thumbs:

so the big day has come. finally pulled out the engine. went pretty good. had problems with the headers so just busted out my favorite tool the sawzall :grinyes:

me cutting the headers

the result. can you say exhaust leak

after removal

I've now cut out all the rust i wanted to remove except one spot and just have two patches left to make.  :working: the next big purchase of a welder will hopefully be a x-mas gift. so it won't quite look like swiss cheese.

so i've been held up with the holidays and work so i haven't gotten a whole lot done. I had to take a week off as i was feeling a little overwhelmed :pullinghair:. i just felt like i was making it look worse and worse, and didn't know if i had the ability to put it back. thanks to all the other resto's i realized lots of people are in my situation so I regrouped and soldiered on. i have 95% of the paint removed from the car now and almost all the cancer removed aswell so that's a big step. i am doing some little projects to keep my mind off the big picture. I just need to keep chipping away. :working:

Who in Canada are you buying the Rust Bullet from?
i just felt like i was making it look worse and worse, and didn't know if i had the ability to put it back.
From seeing what you've done so far, ability isn't an issue.

well now i've been feeling a whole lot better about the project. i finished getting rid of all the old orange paint.  .and have continued to refurbish parts. i think i'm done with my rust bullet for now aswell as i did all frame rails, the front floor and any last bits of pitting, just to make sure.  and best of all i got to add some new paint to the car. i did the shock towers so i can get the UCA back in and the car back on wheels so i can move it. I can't imagine how you guys feel when you get the whole car painted cause i was giddy with just this little bit.
all in all a pretty productive week.
