here's a minor update.
finally recieved my poly bushings after a really long wait. and on top of that they were red instead of black :puke: which is alright for control arms but the sway bar will be ugly. got them installed which took alot of persuasion  :horse: and finally got her back on wheels so i could move it so i could pull the old fenders out of the attic. checked out the fenders and have questions about them but i'll post that in new thread.

well as i discussed in a diffrent thread, the original fenders are pretty much worthless so i'm going to use my fiberglass ones until money is right to get repros. i did use the original ones to get all the hole locations for the fiberglass ones. they fit pretty good and look pretty close but with some tweaking should look great. i know the headlights don't fit well and the hood pin brackets dont fit at all, the lowest body line is off and there is no middle body line on the pass. side but it's all a lot less work compared to the originals. i got about 5 hours in on the car today so this is what i got done. :working:

i started with drilling the holes for the fender mount turn signal, antenna and pentastar.


i also worked on the body line on the pass. side :eek4:

next was the hood pins. as you can see the holes were off and the ridge in the fiberglass was in the way.but did get it to fit properly.



and the toughest was the sidemarker. luckily it was already doubled up where i needed to cut. it isnt that pretty or uniform underneath the sidemarker but turned out good with a little filler.




next is to do the pass. side marker and hood pin. i am also having my dad come over and we are goin to get the final adjustments made on the doors, so we can line up the fenders to those and i can work on the lower body line.

hey Geoff,
 Thats looks pretty sweet... I`m sure you`ll be able to get a nice fit with those... it didn`t look too bad at all on the pics in the other thread.  For sanding the bodyline back into position, you really should run tape down the line and sand towards it.  Easiest is to start with tape under the bodyline and get the top half straight.
after that flip the tape to the top side and and go from there. Use a hard block and sand in x pattern  :2thumbs:

You may have to run a ground wire for your radio antenna to make it work, IIRC.

i had a feeling i would. but thats no big deal, it's only for looks right now my original radio isnt hooked up.

Well i've been trucking along. doing lot's of tedious stuff that kills me. i did get the other marker in and the doors aligned. the doors took over 3 hours, :banghead: because of a bad body line. so instead i decided to just move it down myself. but now the doors look great. I also have the fenders on now and have them pretty well aligned. I've just about finished the pass. body line and the wonky lower body line. i need fill the top corner of one fender so it will match up with the door and sand the edge of the fender back to line up the gap. but, they ar getting close.the plan is to finish my body work on them and get them primed. just in time to take them off again. ;D

well tonight had some high's and lows. i decided to switch track for a  bit and do the back. earlier in the week i took my bumper into the chromers to have straightened. after that it was off to a friends to tig in the bumper bolts so i have the rubber bumper look :bigshades:. after that i took on my trunk which to be honest is terrible. it has probably as much fiberglass as sheet metal on the trunk floor(not my doing), but at least it wont rust. it will be a project for later.
anyways i decided to paint my trunk so spent a good half hour taping off the interior where the trunk meets, and went at her, i think the paint came out pretty good, i hit a spot where sand was hiding and made a mess in a spot but all in all not bad. the bad news was i missed sealing one part of the interior and i filled the interior wioth over spray :swear: :stomp: :banghead: i dont know what i was thinking, now i've got orange overspry on every thing, i did manage to clean up the dash pretty good but all my white seats are screwed and all the other parts stored in the interior. i was going to recover the seats but not imediatly. :banghead: maybe i'm showing my age cause this kinda **** happens alot to me.
oh well just more work for me, heres some pics for some reason my camera makes it look much more yellow.
