so, i got the car running again this week  of course some more issues but they're getting more and more minor. It took me alot of nursing for a bit but got her idling again. It was a combo of stale gas, the motor being cold and the carb not being fully tuned but after about 20 min. she moved around under its own power again. I have kind of forgotten the car got the new carb on it then it sat for 15 years so more tuning is in store, the problem is that you cant hear a whole lot with open headers so exhaust is on the list, along with a new rad cap.

I'm happy to say the trans is leak free now aswell other than my own stupid mistake... i filled up the trans and let the car get warm but noticed a small leak coming from the dipstick tube :swear: I forgot to put on the new o-ring! so now i need to drain the fluid and do that all over again. other than that the floor is finally staying dry :swaying:

Im still fighting with my stupid fiberglass fenders but found an original set for sale here for $400 so im starting to get tempted, these dang fenders are the only thing keeping me from painting the rest of the car, other than cash of course. Also its still -30 here so the car will continue to  hibernate but hopefully i'll have a video of her driving soon enough.

Glad to hear you got her running under her own power.  Don't feel bad about the "O" ring.  We've all done similar things at one time or another.    :2thumbs:

well its been a long time coming but finally have a good update. I am still  having a small leak coming from the dipstick but its minor enough that i could focus on other things. firstly ive installed most of my 2.5 inch magnaflow exhaust, i just need the collectors welded up and a little fine adjusting at the muffler shop and it should be good. I also finally got the body to about 90% so it got a sealer coat of epoxy and im finally going to enjoy the car for a while since its been 2 years of being torn apart. It just needs a few small things to be adjusted and added then shes ready for the road (wipers etc.).  I made some temporary front signals for the car using led trailer lights, since i dont have the cash to get an original set at the moment, as i still need another headlight bezel, tires, and other parts.

I also have some 440 stripes that im thinking about putting on...Opinions?

just running dumps til the muffler shop

fresh after paint

Hey all,
havn't been on here in a long time. its been a crazy fall and winter here with school and now christmas. Put some good miles on the car for the last couple of months i could enjoy it. still have some bugs to work out in the motor and trans. id say its running at about 80-85% at the moment. Ive added a couple pics of it out and about. over the winter im rebuilding the carb, since she's still thirsty around 1200 rpm, changing to an alum. rad to keep her cool, ive got a new set of tires on their way which will help the stance, the exhaust will be finished once i get some tips, new windshield in the spring. all in all its coming together. Cash has been tight do to school but im starting a new job in the new year here which will hopefully allow me to get those last few parts that i can't quite afford (signals, seat covers etc.)
When parts start going on i will update again.

I do have to say that this car has been the most gratifying thing i have ever taken part of and i can't thank the members of this site enough for their help, as i would never be able to do this with out them.
hope you all have a great holiday season
