Where do you park your Trailer in Carlisle??
« on: June 18, 2009 - 09:00:52 PM »
I will be bringing my car to Carlisle in a 24' enclosed trailer. I have purchased a double space for my truck and trailer? Does anyone know where they have you park? Are you allowed to go into the fairgrounds throught the main gate and unload?? Just trying to figure it out before I get there.
Mark

when I went a few years ago, you park right above the car show on the grounds at the top of the hill, I payed for trailer parking and just left my trailer there over the weekend

Mark, When you drive up to the fairgrounds, go to gate #3 and pull into the left side parking lot. You'll see the registration office. They will give you stickers for your truck and trailer. They will also give you a packet for your car. Security will direct you to the top parking lot where you will park your truck and trailer. Unload the car there and drive it down to the show field.  The truck and trailer parking is for the weekend. You can come and go as you need. Gate 3 is open 24-7 for vendors and show field cars. You will need a car or the truck with the sticker on it to re-enter gate 3.
The trailer lot has 24 hr. security, it's pretty safe there. I've been trailering my car for 3 years now without any issues..

Thanks Pete,
Do you leave you car in the trailer at night on the fairgrounds and just drive the truck or do  you just load it all up and take it back to the hotel?

if you have an open trailer make sure you lock your ramps down, I use a bike chain. When I was there I had to loan a guy my ramps as someoen stold his from his trailer

At night, after I'm done cruising with the car on the strip,  I lock the car in the trailer and take the truck to the hotel. (No worries that way).  :ylsuper:
In the morning the car is nice and clean. If its a humid night, it will save you from cleaning the car from the morning dew.  I also put the chairs in the truck on my way out and set them up in the morning.

Can't Wait...  Pete

Man, I wish I had a trailer!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my fish on the street (getting the exhaust done as we speak) and I think its too soon to make a 3 hr trip yet in it......gotta get used to her, tweak stuff etc...so will be bringing the Durango....

That said, for those of us who are staying at the Quality Inn, where is a good place to park near the grounds?  When I went up in spring, we ended up parking "somewhere" but it was a hit or miss thing to find spots.....would like to be closer than I was too, in the event that I find something large enough where I want to put it in the truck instead of carrying it around.....

(Did I say how I wish I could bring my fish?!?!  :stomp:  )  LOL

I'm not sure all what you are looking for as far as parts go, but anything you buy, I can keep for you in my car(it will be in the show field), then I can hand it back to you at the Hotel.
