So finally got to sit in the car and run it. Pushed the pedal in and (as stated in an earlier post) the pedal does not travel all the way to the floor so transmission will not go into first and grinds into reverse. Clutch feels good for the first half of travel and spongy on the second half. If I shut the engine off and put it into Rev or 1st then start the engine it is not too bad. The top lever of the z-bar seems to be away from the firewall too far (IE do I have the incorrect first link from the pedal to the z-bar? too long) so if you push the pedal down the top z-bar lever goes near to over center. Physics and leverage coming into play here. Also the adjustable second link has the nuts a long way down the threads to get the freeplay and the O/C spring to stay back. Now this means as the clutch wears I will run out of threads to adjust with - right? as we back off the adjustment towards the front of the car as the clutch wears. I took the 3 rubber stops out of the pressure plate when installing the clutch and the kevlar plate only goes in one way so I do not see the need to pull the clutch again. What I need is for a member to post a picture of a BB and Mcleod type clutch setup please. Both from the same view as the picture and the adjuster beneath.
