Almost embarrassing to ask but better than screwing up!
 It's been apart or months. I'm installing new u-joints. I'm thinking big end of drive-shaft towards tranny and small end towards rear end? Correct?

The u-joints are the same on both ends. Here is a picture,( it's worth a thousand words lol ) Notice small and big ends? I'm thinking  IF it ever broke, the smaller end is the weakest so one would want that end towards the rear end? Any thoughts?

Ok Thanks guys.That's what I though, sounds logical to me too. I'll assemble it now with the big end towards the tranny.   :working:

Did you have it powdercoated?  Another member had his done and something loosened up inside it.

It looks nice!

No I found it near me in a Kijiji add it was in good shape light surface rust. I just took the wire wheel attached to the disc grinder and a coat of rust not spray paint. Cheap!

The big one goes in the back on AARs & T/As for sure.

Check your trans input shaft yoke & the size of your rear end yoke, they will tell you what to do.  ;)

Edit;

Oops, I assumed you were talking about large & small u-joints. The taper in the shaft itself does go to the rear.
