can I reuse my dust shields after going with bigger rotors?
« on: June 19, 2009 - 11:47:24 PM »
I just put on the bigger rotors and was looking at my scrap pile and wondered if I can still use my dust shields?

OK Thanks! I went from the smaller rotors to the bigger ones? Same with you?

The Barracuda has always had large rotor when I did the conversion in 1993. But the shields are from the 73-76 11" disk A-body spindle donor. I don't know if the cordoba 12" disk shield are actually different.  :dunno:

My Dart had 11" disk and I upgraded with the appropriate caliper adapter and 12" disk.

All is well with both.

Thanks! :2thumbs:

If you don't plan on driving through 2" deep flooded puddles of standing water, they would probably cool better without the disk sheilds. You could try to use the shield to support brake ducts, but it's pretty flimsy.

I have a circle track general fit brake duct adapter. But I don't have 3" neoprene ductings ($$$). I did score 8' of 2" for like $20. Close but no cigar.
