I have a question on the neutral safety switch on the Torqueflite 727 big block automatic transmission. I have been trying to correct all the butchered wiring in my '74 Dodge Challenger. The neutral safety switch had originally been jumpered out. I have installed new wiring harnesses from Evans wiring. The new transmission harness has a 3-pin connector that should plug into the tranny (torqueflite 727, big block). The switch that is screwed into my tranny is an older type switch with a single lug connector on it (the tranny is a replacement). It obviously won't plug into my 3-pin connector. What do I do?? If I bought a newer type 3-pin type switch would it be compatible with my tranny?? Would it even screw in??
Or should I cut the plug off of my brand new harness and connect it to the old style lug connector?
If so, which wires from the connector would go to the single lug on the switch?? I don't know what to do here and need some help!
You guys rock and have gotten me out of a hole more than once. Thanks in advance!!
