trans brake operation, need tips.

i finally got my trans brake hooked up and headed to the track tomorrow. i took a short drive last night and was playing with it  . i noticed that the car will roll forward a small amount [ enough to red light ] after the button is pressed, is this normal. i assume that you have to have a small amount of foot brake on as well?
 i don't need any help looking stupid at the tree, i do a pretty good job on my own, any advice would be appriciated.

it should not move at all with the transbrake activated...mine doesn't anyways

your foot should be to the floor on the gas pedal with it brake activated and it shouldn't go anywhere until you release the button.

What brand of brake is it? Some brands need a minimum of 1500 to 2000 RPM's when engaged to hold tight.

the guy who built it told me what brand it was but i can't remember, i will find out though.
the only thing i can tell you is that he claims it is one of the top of the line ones and was the the most expensive

that's the unit I have...I probably idle at 1000-1100rpm at the line, mine seems to always stay locked, I do "2 foot" it at the line to stage, so maybe that's why?

Street car with a small tire and if your not going to race every weekend, I would use a two step instead....

Trans brakes are hard on parts, and really not for a street car..
