    I just read this on Foxnews.com

    R.I.P.   :sadwavey:   :angelwings:  Also a hometown Pittsburgh guy, too.

    DEVELOPING: Television pitchman Billy Mays — who built his fame by appearing on commercials and infomercials promoting household products and gadgets — died Sunday.

    Mays, 50, was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department.

    Police said there were no signs of forced entry to Mays' residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.

    "Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times," Mays wife, Deborah, said in a statement on Sunday.

    We both share the same Birthday(4 years apart), and we were born in the same town.   :grinyes:

    Shame.   I was just reading the storey a few hrs a go. The night before  (saturday) his plane landed in Miami and hit hard causeing him to bang his head. At 10 oclock at night he said he had a headache, never woke up :dunno:  News said it was not related

    It just seems when they start this that several die at the same time.  I hope it stops soon though with the rest of them.

    Remember the actress who fell while sking last winter, bumped her head then later died and it was a direct result to her fall. The hit to his head in that landing could have been the reason too, no matter what the news state. But I suppose the autopsy will give the reason. He was different for sure hawking those products, but I never bought any of that stuff, he was just getting paid to sell a product.

    I never could stand him until I watched his show "Pitch Men". After watching the show I realized he was actually a pretty likable guy who was VERY good at what he did.

    I dont know about his being obnoxious but I really hated seeing all the downright lies that they would put on to sell their product.

    They did a piece on a local Fox news on the super epoxy putty stuff. In the commercial they mended a handle on a cup, bonded a garden hose hanger to the side of the house, bonded a cinder blocks to a chain and immedately suspeneded the block, and the piece de resistance'; bonded a broken link in a chain and seconds later, pulled an 18 wheeler with it.
