Old School Car Ads
« on: July 01, 2009 - 09:23:17 AM »
I'm not sure if anyone has done a topic like this before, but I thought it would be neat to post some old car ads from back in the day to remind us how cheap (relatively) our beloved musclecars used to be. Since this is a mopar site, I'm keeping it Mopar. Who knows, maybe some of you sold these cars, or bought them, or know someone who did. These first several (aside from the "77" Cuda) were taken from the Deals on Wheels issue Vol.12/ No.12 in Feb 1993. I've taken out the owners phone numbers so they won't be swamped with phone calls again suddenly 16 years later. Enjoy!

These next ones are from Classic Cars National Buyers Guide, March 1993. I would love it if you guys that have kept much older ads from the seventies could post some goodies. I'd love to see those hemi car ads for a couple thousand bucks.  :clapping:

Wow, I can't believe no one else has any old great deal ads to contribute here. I know I'm not the only one that keeps everything car related, like Old Car Trader and Deals on Wheels. Let's see some other crazy deals from back in the day.

Very cool ads!  I don't know if I have any... I'll look around...

I was keeping all my old Auto Traders when I was looking to buy in 1980.  I paid $2,000 for my 72 Cuda that I purchased through Auto Trader in 1980.  I kept buying them for the next few years and even cut out all the cars of interest and glued then into a duo tang.
I'm going to take a look and see if I can find them.  If I do I'll post up some pics.  In 1985 I almost bought a copper colored 1969 Daytona for $13,500 but ended up buying the AAR that I still own today.   I kick myself every time I think about it.
You can call me RAY or RAYMOND or RAZOR or THE ZOR!
